Entrepreneurial Decision Making

When it comes to your entrepreneurial decision making, there are 3 levels you need to think about.

This largely comes down to proactive vs reactive decision making, and how you set yourself up for success now and in the future.

The problem is, it’s hard to do know which decision to make, and what level of thinking you should use at the moment. You only know what you know, and it’s easy to lose sight of things when you have a lot on your mind.

But it’s one of the most important skills you can learn as an entrepreneur because, without your decision making, you have nothing.

Your decisions determine everything you do, so your success (now and forever) depends on the choices you make.

I’ve learned this the hard way. I’ve met many entrepreneurs who have learned the hard way, too.

3 Levels of Entrepreneurial Decision Making

I don’t want that for you, which is why I recorded this short video 🙂

It dives into the 3 levels of thinking you need as an entrepreneur:

  • what they are…
  • why you need them…
  • how to use them…

When it comes to leveling up your game (both you and your business), it’s vital you take your ‘thinking’ to the next level.

In this video, I show you how, so be sure to have a watch, take some notes, and get ready to blow up 🙂

When you do watch, be sure to Subscribe + Like + Comment on Youtube. This allows Youtube to share this video with more people like you, meaning more people who need it will get to use it.

And a world with more entrepreneurs making better decisions is a world I want to live in 😉

So get on this and watch it now. And then… implement all three of these level of thinking into your life.

Inside of your business, there are three different levels of thinking.
Scott Oldford here, and today I wanna make sure that you’re going to be strategic. As entrepreneurs, there are three levels of really thinking inside of our business. There’s reactive, proactive, and strategic.
Your highest level of profitability as well as your ability to actually grow your business sustainably and successfully comes from being strategic. Inside of your business up to this point, it may be the fact that you feel everything’s reactive.
You kinda wake up in the morning, you’re a little bit of a firefighter. You’re always putting out the fires. You’re always doing this; you’re always doing that. But what ends up happening is you actually spend a lot of energy actually having to do these things.
You’re having to switch tasks. And aside from that, your team also can’t really feel like they’re in control. Now at the same time, you will get to a point where you go from reactive to proactive. Now in the proactive stage, it really allows you to start planning 90 days into advance. You’re not so much a firefighter, perhaps your team is still doing some of the firefighting.
But you’re looking into 90 days into the future, and you really kinda understand, you see and you realize exactly what’s going to be happening. And so from there, it allows you to plan properly. It allows you to plan cashflow.
It allows you to plan where you’re going to be and what things look like.
This is why I always recommend that most entrepreneurs plan in 90-day intervals instead of a year interval.
Because most entrepreneurs are either in the reactive or proactive state. Now your job is to really be able to get to that proactive state as fast as possible in your business.
Because the more that you can actually see of what’s coming at you, the more ability you have to actually profit
because the fewer mistakes you actually make. So one of the biggest reasons that most people don’t make a profit inside of their business is because every single time that you make a mistake, aka, you innovate or you iterate,
it costs a lot of energy, it costs a lot of time, whether it’s your time or the time of your actual team.
Now the last stage is strategic. Very few people actually get here. Very few companies actually get here.
But those are the most profitable and the most impactful businesses in the world. And while you may not get too strategic to a really perhaps ever, although I want you to, you always need to be thinking about how you can actually get to that point of actually sitting down and planning the next year out.
Actually having the financial resources to plan the next year out. See, in strategic thinking, you’re thinking about the years ahead, not just today. In strategic thinking, you are now thinking about the impact that you can build
inside of your industry, inside of the people that you are actually working with.
Now going from reactive to proactive to strategic may take years. It’s taken me a long time to even get to the level of strategic thinking from being in a proactive state. And a lot of the time what I’ve learned is that it’s not necessarily about just really actioning this, but thinking about it.
Going into the strategic mindset. Going into the proactive mindset. And elevating those that are around you
so that they’re also in the proactive and strategic mindset. See, when we’re in reactive states, we really make a continuation of decisions that keep us in that reactive state. The more we fight fires, the more we fight fires.
We get used to it.
Our actual nervous system changes to be in fight or flight. And in reality, we can’t make our best decisions there.
So strive for proactive, and at best think strategically. This will allow you to grow your business in ways that allow you to have more profit and more impact, allowing you to have the abundance and freedom that I know you wish you had in your business today.
