As entrepreneurs, we like to fixate on “things”.
Be it money, cars, houses, success, a title… we tend to become obsessed on achieving something.
There’s nothing wrong with this, so long as you appreciate why you want this “something”.
The problem is, most people don’t.
We tend to strive for this in the hope of feeling significant.
We want to feel better about who we are and what w’re becoming, and we thinking achieving “this” and “that” will help.
Most of the time, it doesn’t.
You reach it and straight away turn towards another goal.
Because so long as you’re striving towards something, it distracts you from how you really feel.
Which most of the time is scared, insecure, and incomplete.
One of the most important things you can do as a person (not just as an entrepreneur) is to reach a point where you’re okay with who you are. You need to believe you’re enough. You need to feel sigfnificant and okay. You need to be okay with who you are.
Otherwise you’ll always want more, without knowing what “more” really is.
And all this is scary.
It’s easier to push towards more of this and more of that, as you have something to keep you feeling safe and ‘busy’.
But it’s all a distraction: a distraction from you doing what you truly need to do.
