I remember as long as I could remember that I would dread December. 

Most people love December… for many it’s a time for family and a time to celebrate. 

But for years…

All I thought about was how less business would happen.

That next payments wouldn’t come in until January…

It wasn’t a great experience. 

Feeling scared and anxious.

Instead of feeling excited (like everyone else it seemed)

It wasn’t until I met my Wife and shared this with her once.

Her response?

“That’s not very abundant of you…”

After my wife told me my mindset on this wasn’t very abundant….

I tried to defend myself first.

I used data and I told her about the stories of my past that shaped the belief.

And as you know…most of our life is defined by stories. 

And that if it didn’t feel good, I had the opportunity to change or upgrade it. 

Then I started to ask deeper questions about my approach. 

I realized I never “planned” for December to be a huge month… or even a pretty good month… 

I just let the month happen. 

My belief, and the story I was telling myself, led to me having lower energy and drive. Which probably had more than anything to do with the end results. 

And I would carry so much resistance and judgment to the point where I didn’t even like an entire month.

I write this as a simple reminder… for a few things…

1. Your reality is more about the stories you have than reality itself.

2. If December wasn’t a killer month… that’s totally okay. You have an entire year of months starting in a handful of days.

3. What stories are creating your reality? How are they impacting your business?
