7-figure Letter Issue #42 – How to Change Your Life This Year

This is a new weekly newsletter that will be focused on going “deep” on a specific framework, method or strategy for scaling past 7+ figures in your online business.

It’s pretty normal to look around at about this moment into the new year and ask yourself…

What has changed?

In reality:

You might have made plans.

You might of have created a vision board.

You maybe even gave yourself a new “year” new “me” pep talk.

But… you’ve woken up on these first days of 2024 and you feel the same.

Here’s the truth:

Unless you put yourself in complete Willful Consciousness each day.

You’re going to feel the same.

Why?

It’s really simple.

We can sustainably change at 0.1% per day.

But usually not at 1%, 10% or 100%.

While we may have moments, days, and weeks  that we are our “new” self.

There is always a default “legacy” state and level of consciousness trying to drag us back to what is familiar to us from before.

And…

The “default” can be changed.

But it usually doesn’t with one swoop.

It occurs over time.

Now…

You can override this with will power.

That’s why people do sober January…

Or even hit the gym regularly for a few weeks or months…

You see people make a lot of their new goals into “all or nothing” plays.

Even though some people do succeed with this approach, statistically the vast majority of people fail with it.

(Although if you go by the stats, most people fail to create and sustain material change in their life pretty much regardless of how aggressive or gradual their approach is)

After trying and failing multiple times with creating change, a lot of people stop trying to consciously improve in some area(s) of their life.

They leave those areas of their lives to the “default” or to the “status quo”.

People who let themselves slip into this mindset rarely even make any resolution(s) to improve their health…

or relationships…

or key Pillar in their business…

or their personal financial picture…

However, between me and for you, Cynthia…

From what I’ve seen, the people  who “beat the odds” and succeed most often have 3 things in common.

I’ll share those below the sponsor break  : )

Alright, here are the 3 ways I’ve seen people be able to create, sustain, and grow their success over time:

(1)  They have written out a clear vision and plan for their lifestyle.

It helps to have a brief “menu” of options for key actions to take or intentions to set to help actualize the various pieces of the vision & plan.

(2) They review their vision, plan, goals, and key actions + intentions OFTEN

Just like brushing your teeth is fundamental dental hygiene….

….reconnecting with your vision and intentions for your life is fundamental mental hygiene.

Doing this pulls you towards what you want, as opposed to you having to push your way there through will power.

You see this when people burn themselves (and/or their adrenals) out.

(3) They stay actively engaged “in the game” long enough to get really good at it

They play the long game. They aren’t trying to constantly reinvent themselves or aim to ‘10X’ some areas of their life this year

You’ve probably heard the quote that says that people overestimate what they can do in 1 year but underestimate what they can do in 5 years or 10 years.

The truth of most of the people you perceive as “overnight successes” is that they probably actually had years of time where they stayed in the game.

They kept growing without getting overwhelmed or discouraged

And they got the support and guidance they needed to help themselves to get out of their own way

I see a lot of people aim to improve 1% each day.

In areas where you are new (or have major opportunities for improvement), you certainly can grow rapidly for a period of time as you go from novice to competent.

But going from good to great often happens over a bit of a longer period of time with lower incremental gains made each day.

Let’s look at what happens if you “only” improve on average by 0.1% each day….

…but you show up day in and day out with intentions that bleed into actions that are more and more aligned, powerful, and valuable.

Improving on average by 0.1% each day means you improve by 44% in a year.

If that rate of improvement is discouraging, zoom out a bit and consider the long game (which gives you the opportunity to keep building and compounding on your existing growth)

In the five years in between Year 1 and Year 6, you would improve by over 500% if you averaged 0.1% daily growth.

If you did it for 10 years? You’d be over 3,700% better.

What if, over time, you increased your capacity and your resources in ways that allowed you to be able to sustainably begin to improve at 0.2% or 0.3% or 0.5% or more each day?

One of the biggest things that keeps people from mastery (and the rewards that come with attaining it) is their impatience.

Their inability to remain active & engaged long enough to actualize deeper levels of their potential.

In my life, almost nothing has happened suddenly

Yes, I’ve had “aha” moments.

Yes, I’ve had deep changes that occurred.

However, the integration into my day-to-day life?

It has taken years.

It’s why I try not to plan things in a year.

I try to plan things in 5-10 years.

I was broke.

I was living in a 350 sq/ft apartment.

I was working 18 hours a day.

I was… an entirely different person.

When I was 17 years old I was around 350 pounds.

It took over a couple years for me to get to 180 pounds.

It was consistency.

It was showing up.

It was not burning out.

It was improving 0.1% per day.

Or 0.5% one day, -0.5% the next, and 0.3% next after that to average out at 0.1% per day.

Expand your timeline and everything becomes easy.
